Once, we were kings.: You hurt me

shahzadgai:

Dear white female friends and acquaintances of the pin up/ gothic and other related subcultures and communities,

I wish I had a flowery and polite way to put this but I realise this would make me apologetic for something that is NOT my fault.

Every time you tan bash, be it on social networking…

THIS THIS THIS!!! A THOUSAND TIMES!

And this extends to Asian fashions as well, and I know it’s their standard of beauty, but being brown IS NOT WRONG EITHER.

I’ve gone to camp and heard of a mixed girl just like me, lamenting about how she’d gotten too tan and how long it would be before she was ‘light and pretty again’. I wanted to hit her so fucking hard.

stophatingyourbody:

all my life ive been really short( about 4’11), and skinny but when i hit puberty everything just started getting bigger( went from 105 lbs-130). it didn’t bother me , i was ok with it beacuse i knew i was still ME. but then when summer came around, people started telling me stuff “like look how much you’ve grown, you look like a young lady! but loosing a few lbs would make you look even better!” i didnt really care about those people though… but that wasnt. the problem was when my own parents and family started telling me i needed to loose weight because it was starting to get out of control( tell you the truth every time i went to the doctor and ask him about my weight he told me i was where i was suppose to be , and i was ok) so why were my parents telling me this? i played sports, i exercised, and ate healthy. then i realized it wasnt their fault , it was society for putting bs into their brains , by showing 17 year olds my age should weight 100 lbs. so one day i told them that i was happy the way i looked and thats all it mattered , they didn’t understand , but sometimes you gotta stick to what you believe in , even if it goes against this whole judgmental world. :) smile like is your last day on earth !
